My First Ever Contact Lenses

I finally got my first ever contact lenses after about a year of asking around about it (does it hurt, how to put in on and take it off, possible problems, how to care for it, etc.). You could say I’m a bit paranoid about wearing it since the thought of touching my eyes seems gross. I also thought that it would hurt the first time. I was also afraid that it would get stuck behind my eye which, as I read online from my research, will never happen because there’s supposed to be a membrane between your eye and behind it. Wearing the contact lenses didn’t really hurt, not at all. Since it’s my first time wearing contact lenses, the girl from the shop taught me how to put it on and take it off. We had such a difficult time putting it on since I have small eyes. It took us several minutes to get the job done and my eyes were really very red already. Well, that’s just my case since I have small Chinese-ish eyes. This shouldn’t be a problem for other people. I got a clear 1-month contact lenses since it’s just a trial for me and it’s also the cheapest one there. Wearing eyeglasses are cute but the knowledge and experience of using contact lenses will always come in handy especially for cosplaying someday. Ne? ^__^

Look closely and you’ll see my contacts. Keeps repeating to self “right is white”. It’s very crucial for me since each eye has a different grade.

There was a Canon exhibit at the mall, I was looking at the DSLRs and I asked for a brochure. Very expensive, I shall say. One of my dreams is to own a very hi-tech DSLR since I’m a frustrated photographer. Anyone who’s willing to give me one for christmas? With the recession still around, I don’t think anyone would, not even my parents!

Here’s a sample price. OMG, I could never ever earn this amount unless I become a millionaire/billionaire someday!!!!!

Many Thanks To Great Friends

This blog entry is especially dedicated to give thanks to my great friends! Especially for helping me last friday, Nov. 20, 2009. It was the last day of enrollment and I still haven’t done so because of a few problems with a major paper. In the end, I was able to enroll thanks to my friends who kept me from sherieking from the pressure. In return, I made them a banner. (Went around asking for 30k Php but no one gave me…  Hehehe!)

Thank you to Roxie who really accompanied me the whole time from knowing that it was the last day of enrollment, to hunting teachers to get my grades, and calling at home to get the money for the enrollment. Btw, thanks for the piso-piso (coins) at the phone booth!

Thank you to Jamie for offering to lend me 4k Php had I asked earlier. Got carried away in making this banner since she has nice photos in my harddrive from anime conventions we attended. Come and join JAC now! And yeah, meetings are really 32nd of every month…

Also, thanks to my groupmates Deniece, Mich, and Mae-Mae who I pressured to finish our peer evaluation (which I really didn’t need/use in the end)

Thanks to Mich and Mae-Mae for the souvenirs from Thailand and Singapore during their trip last sembreak.

Again thanks to Mich for the blue contact lenses she gave me though it has no grade. It’s 2 colors, yay! I don’t really like the 3 colors contact lenses which seem rather popular here.

A Lazy School Day…

[Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for winnig his fight this weekened! He won his 7th title against Miguel Cotto. I watched the whole fight and it was exciting though I don't really know anything about boxing . (I only knew a little from watching the anime Knock Out) Again, Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for winning and for Miguel Cotto too for putting up til the end. Proud to be a Filipino. Yay!~ The whole Philippines is celebrating with the Pacquiao team. Undoubtedly, it is during these very rare moments that nationalism really surfaces among the people.]

I was all armed with my digicam last friday, Nov. 13, 09. I was ready to take pictures and document our KTV sing out. However, I backed out at the last minute. My classes ended at 3 pm and I was already starting to have a little headache at around lunch time. I was already doubting if I should still go because I felt lazy about going to KTV. When I told Mich I really won’t go anymore she also didn’t go. We went to the chemistry lab to tell our friends that we won’t go anymore and it was also starting to rain already. We found them cleaning some test tubes and other chemistry stuff. Poor them. Hehe~ I don’t know if they still went to the KTV since we went home already while their classes are until 6 pm.

Anyhow, instead of uselessly lying in my harddrive, I’d just like to share the photos I took that day.

First Day Blues!

OK, it’s not exactly the first day of classes (it’s the 3rd day already) but it’s just now that I’m enjoying the first days of the new semester. We’re not doing much yet, just discussing the contents of the syllabi of the different subjects I’m taking up. My dismissal for today was 12 noon. It felt so good to be home so early! I bought a cookies and cream shake on my way home. Yay~! This is enjoying life! I also walked some distance on my way home rather than riding the public transportation. Gosh, how I missed walking so much! I find it some kind of a distressor. Unfortunately, though, 12 noon is not the best time to walk. It was so hot and I can feel the sun piercing through my skin!

Anyhow, I wore my new shoes in school today. Yay~! I know it’s just something petty but hey, it makes me happy so it should be fine! I also wore an eyelid tape in school today. It still kind of sticks out a bit so I really must hide it with eyeliner and some eye make-up but I still don’t have the money to buy a decent eyeliner, preferably a liquid one. The eyeliner I have right now is a pencil one and it kind of smudges after a while and not really suitable for hiding eyelid tapes. I’d like to try the eyelid glues but I don’t know where to find one! People here in our country usually have big eyes or at least, eyes bigger than mine so they don’t need eyelid tapes or glues. Thus, it’s really difficult to find eyelid tapes/glues here. Boo! For the record, I’m not using eyelid tapes to make my eyes bigger and seem westerner, or any other people. I’m using eyelid tapes in a vain effort to imitate anime characters, you know, they have these big cute eyes. OK? Let me get that clear because I’ve been reading online some stuff about monolids and wanting to look western etc. etc. by using eyelid tapes/glues, etc. etc. Anime is my happiness so I don’t find it unrightful….

I still haven’t gone to the seamstress to have my measurements for my cosplay. I immediately slept when I arrived home and woke up already late in the afternoon. I really need to go there tomorrow or else my costume might not be made in time.

I’ve finished watching Daisakusen series and special! So romantic! It makes me wanna fall in love too!

I’m having fun watching movies these past few days. The movies I’ve watched so far are:

• Camp Rock (Demi Lovato is pretty and Joe Jonas is cute/handsome)
• Picture This (I love Ashley Tisdale especially as Sharpay… wait, isn’t that a different movie? Hehehe~)
• Bewitched (I love the original series! Nicole Kidman really looked like Elizabeth Montgomery.)
• New York Minute (It was a cute movie and they have Simple Plan!)
• Prince Caspian (I wanted to cry while watching [from excitement], CS Lewis was such a very very great writer! I love the whole Narnia series!)
• Nanny McPhee (I love this movie so much! It was so great!)

There are still other movies I’ve watched but I‘ve already forgotten which. Hahaha!I wanted to update my blog using the internet in school so as to save my smartbro load but my smartbro (with the right signal) is even faster than the internet in school. Boo!

OMG, Manny Pacquiao’s fight is drawing near! I hope he wins! *cross fingers* I’m really a big fan!

Sembreak is ending!

Boo! Belated happy scary halloween! I think a Casper movie is enough to celebrate halloween for me! Yay! I love Casper so much! If there’s one ghost I would love to have at home it would be no other than Casper! Oh, how I wish! Hehehe~! Don’t you think so, too?

Anyhow, my sembreak is officially coming to an end. The day after tomorrow would be back-to-school again to start the second semester. I’m not yet even done with the psychological report I have to pass on the 6th! My groupmates and I are meeting tomorrow morning to hopefully finish our psych testing paper and pass it once school starts. Wish us luck ‘coz I really really need to have that finished ASAP! Oh well, the moment I started worrying about these papers was the moment my sembreak officially ended. Really.

I finished watching “Daisakusen” series already but I haven’t watched the special yet. Will watch it soon. As for this sembreak, I was able to watch only 3 movies so far (excluding those shown on the TV) : forbidden kingdom, wishmaster, and bedtime stories. I loved forbidden kingdom because I love those kind of fight scenes, the use to martial arts, etc., because I think guns are only for the weak. I mean, people most of the time use it to boost their confidence and courage and strength, right? Which means that they are initially weak and I think the confidence and strength guns give them are not the ones they really need. It has to come from within them, not from any weapons. Enough said… Wishmaster seemed rather too old. As for the bedtime stories, I think I only enjoyed the last 20 minutes. Hehehe~ Though the 2 kids were absolutely cute!!!

A hearty laugh. Oh, don’t you just love one? I sure do! 

On another topic… I already got my schedule for next semester. I have a thesis class already! Oh no! I’m scared. Psychological journals, defense, urgh! Here we go again! We’ve had a little exprience from our Experimental Psychology class 2 semesters ago. Good luck to all of us! I just really hope I’m classmates with all my friends! All would be impossible, just at least most of them. *cross fngers* My schedule seems better than my other friends. Hehehe… 7:30 am – 12 nn every tuesdays and thursdays and 7:30 am – 3:00 pm every wednesdays and fridays. I have a 1 1/2 hour break everyday. No saturday classes! Yay!~ I can attend anime conventions! 

Last week, I had to go to the hospital because I suffered from intense ear ache. I can barely sleep because it was so uncomfortable! Still, ear infection is kind of a normal thing for me while growing up but the last one I got was 3 years ago. As usual, the doctor just prescribed me otic drops. It seems fine now though I still have to continue the drops so it will fully heal. 

Whew! Only a about a week or more before next semester starts and I still haven’t resumed writing the paper I have to pass as soon as classes start. I’m such a procrastinator! That’s a part of me that I like the least but I can’t do anything about it because writing papers are boring! I love learning all these psych stuff but writing papers are boring. Hehe~ 

I went to the city hall today because I was really supposed to go back to pass my registration form (for the national election next year) but alas! There were so many people that I didn’t know there was a cut-off. My mom and I went there around late afternoon but when we got there the guard said that we just have to just go back tomorrow at dawn to reach the 1500 voters cut-off. Crap! Government processes here in the country are really slow, such a hassle. 

Right now, I’m watching “Daisakusen” a Japanese series. I’m currently in chapter 8. Thank you so much to Mae-Mae for lending me the DVD. It’s a beautiful series, so romantic! Seems like I wanna fall in love too and go through that “to confess or not” stage. Hehehe! It real sign of a student life! Ne~! ♥♥♥ 

After Jam’s birthday celebration, there’s nothing much that’s happened during my sembreak. Just mostly being at home. Our plan to go to Batangas and Tagaytay didn’t push through. Perhaps next time, friends! See you once school starts and that’s in one week! NOOOO!!!

Gaming, Manga, and Anime

Quick update…

Whew! Editing and uploading photos from Jam’s birthday was tiring!

I downloaded some manga while I was in Jam’s dorm a few days ago. The mangas I’m reading right now are (student-teacher manga);

• Sensei to watashi
• 7th period rhapsody
• Tsuyogari (oneshot)
• Sekai wa happy de dekiteru
• Switch
• Kiss

I can’t wait to read the next parts!!!! Still, it’s a challenge for me to read mangas on the PC because I really don’t like reading book-like things on the PC (i.e. e-books, manga). For me, nothing can really beat and replace the traditional paper where you hold and browse the book on your hands.

Speaking of hands, my hands has been itching since yesterday to play PC games. I’m not really a gamer but I find it really amusing and entertaining to play PC games, currently yahoo games… Hehehe… I was supposed to buy some installers today but it rained so I guess I’ll just buy tomorrow after I get my grades from school… Aside from simple yahoo games, I also wanna playing some hardcore games such as those which involve killing zombies. Yay!~ House of the Dead style! I might just be a gamer from now on! Btw, speaking of school grades, I already know I’ll get 2 incompletes tomorrow because I’m yet to pass two papers. I already know my grades for some subjects but I’m still crossing my fingers for, hopefully, better grades. Are we all not? Goodluck on my trip to buy PC games tomorrow! Offline PC games, that is, since internet connection is still not a luxury. Boo!

I’m also itching to watch some good quality anime. This last year was a phase I had to undergo. It was a very difficult phase because I really had to drag myself just to keep watching and finish an anime series. I would only love to watch j-doramas. Thankfully, it seems like I’m already crawling out of that phase… The anime me is finally back! Yay!~ I ♥ anime with all my heart!

Jam’s 19th birthday celebration

Jam celebrated her 19th birthday last October 10, 2009. It was a very happy day! We had lots of fun, right guys? Hehehe… It was also a learning experience for me to follow my instincts to bring extra clothes. You’ll know why later. Thanks to Jam for all the free food and stuff! I hope you had fun too! Now, this kind of celebration seems better than having a lavish debut… Nice choice! No offense to those who had their lavish debuts, though… ^_~ It wasn’t actually a birthday celebration but instead a birthweek celebration but I was only there during Oct. 10 and 11 because the other days I had to accomplish my clearance and wait for my turn for the check-up in the clinic. Boo! @_@ Me almost got dizzy waiting! I haven’t given Jam a gift yet. Hehehe~ Jam’s birthday is really the right time to celebrate – SEMBREAK! But this sembreak is different, worse. Why? Because we have papers to accomplish… Boo! Still, knowing myself, I won’t do those until a few days before the actual submission – worse,  might do those the day before the submission… Hehehe!~

I arrived late (as usual), almost 1 pm whereas the call time was 12 nn. But no fret, I wasn’t the only one late. Hehehe~ Mich saw Jam’s flat iron so I ironed her hair, the others arrived and the make-up galore started! There was a long line of girls waiting for their hair to be ironed. Whew! It was so tiring! After Mich’s I only did Roxie’s hair though. Meanwhile, we borrowed each others’ make-up and brushes and started putting make-up on ourselves and on each other, especially to those innocent girls who doesn’t really know how to use make-up. Hehehe!!! We used Jam’s new car and Mich’s car as our transportation. There were so many of us, we couldn’t fit in Jam’s car alone!

We stayed there for four hours, until 8 pm, then we went to timezone to play! Yay! I love killing zombies in House of the Dead 4!

Jam’s mom arrived then we went to McDonald’s to get some snacks… Blanche’s parents fetched her already. Milcah already went home because she had to go to church the next day.

It’s just the 5 of us – me, Jamie, Jam, Mich, Mae-Mae. The day’s not yet over. We drove to punchline! It was our first time at a place like that, except for Mae-mae because it was her second time. We arrived at Punchline around 11pm. It was so much fun! I think the main act for that night was Vice Ganda.

When we got home in Jam’s dorm, we smelled so awful we smelled like mixed food and smoke! Ew! Yuck! There was this woman in front of us who smoked like hell! I don’t mind if others smoke, it’s their lungs anyway, just don’t do it publicly! I really hate smelling cigarette smoke or any other smoke! Poor us, we didn’t have any extra clothes so we were stuck with our filthy clothes! I took a bath but still wore my filthy clothes, at least I was able to take a bath… When I got out Jam and Jamie were sleeping already while Mich was about to sleep and Mae-mae was lying on the bed tinkering with the laptop and watching TV, she soon fell asleep though. I cannot sleep yet because my hair was still soaking wet. I surfed the net using Jam’s laptop. Before I knew it, it was daytime already! I didn’t get to sleep! Hehehe!

Morning camwhore with Mae-Mae! Just woke up! Ehhh— did not sleep at all… *pukes*

As for the next day, Mich’s car arrived and she and Mae-Mae went home already! As for me and Jamie, I don’t know what happened but… I still haven’t got a sleep, we’re still on our filthy clothes, we haven’t taken a decent bath, we ate lunch at KFC then… we went to SM Megamall! What?! It was a very impromptu decision! We wanted to go ice skating but when we arrived there we found out that it’s not available there anymore, only in SM MOA. Fufufu~ efforts wasted. Still, it was a blessing for me because I was feeling a little dizzy already due to lack of sleep and I don’t think with that condition I can balance and try to skate. While in SM Megamall, we just browsed for make-up and we also saw Bona there. Then we went home using the MRT, Trinoma route…

My SUPER heavy dinner

I was so so so so happy last friday, October 09, 2009. I went to school to accomplish my clearance. For weeks, all I needed was the clinic’s signature. Finally, after about 10 years, it was my turn for the dental and medical check up and they got my clearance signed. I thought I had to go back next week again. I was also able to get my exam pass that same day. Good thing we’re not required to hunt down our professors anymore from wherever they’re hiding and have them sign our exam pass. I was so happy yet so hungry because it was already late afternoon and the last I eat was breakfast. I was with Mae-Mae and I begged (is that the really the word? more like pressured) her to treat me to eat. Since we’re both somehow so tired of the places to eat around Katipunan, we went to SM north and ate at Pizza Hut. (What? There’s also Pizza Hut at Katipunan!)

Look how many we ordered. This could feed 3 to 4 people yet there were only the 2 of us.

We had:

• a regular supreme cheesy pop
• calamari
• a plate of ceasar salad each
• a big serving of spaghetti
• a glass of iced tea each

I got a solo order of ceasar salad while Mae-Mae’s was part of the 99Php combo meal yet both salads were of the same serving. My plate was only bigger but it was definitely the same amount of serving. It was unfair! The solo order should be larger! I had to force myself to finish the food so it won’t be a waste. We ate for about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours because we couldn’t just take in all of those at once though we were starving (was Mae-Mae also starving that time or was it only me?). We finished around past 6 pm. It wasn’t supposed to be my dinner but I was so full that I could vomit if I try to eat more. When I arrived home until the time I slept I was still full so didn’t bother even having some snacks. I also ate the chocolate Mae-mae was supposed to give to Roxie as a present. Since she didn’t see Roxie that day I just ate it. Hehehe~ My poor little stomach, overworked! Then before we went home we got Zagu! Hehehe!~
